We bake in small batches...
...because we believe that doing so ensures higher quality products and less waste. Small batch baking is one of the ways we keep things tasting just right, like they did when we were kids.
We are a home bakery.
If you're wondering what that means, we're happy to explain. We do not have a brick and mortar store front or a happy little bakery truck (not yet anyway). We bake everything in our own home, and yes, it is perfectly legal.
Wondering how?
We have a home processing exemption from the NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets. We applied for, and received, permission to bake cookies, muffins, scones, cakes, cupcakes, brownies, and make rice treats out of our very own kitchen.
This exemption does come with some restrictions, but we are happy to adhere to them. We cannot make and sell anything that must be refridgerated (darn it, no cheesecake), anything chocolate or candy coated (dang, no cake pops), anything made with vegetables (shoot, there goes our carrot cake too!), and items made with specific fruits. This also means that our icings and frostings are made without butter or cream cheese, but not to worry, we do have a shortening based recipe!
Please note that we use peanuts and tree nuts on a daily basis, and cannot guarantee there will be no cross-contamination.
